This Marshall JMP 2203 from 1978 was Marshalls first foray into the cascading gain technology original pioneered by Mesa Boogie. As such it could be considered the first “High Gain” Marshall although not so much by todays standards. It has an unrivalled organic and percussive tone that other amp manufacturers never quite seemed to be able to capture. A true gem of the amp world. This particular example has been recently recapped to restore it to its original glory and super tight bass response.
